Irrigate a 30 foot perimeter of defensible space around your home.

Use low growing, fire-resistant ground cover and landscaping.

Keep combustible plants such as shrubs and evergreens more than 5 feet from your home.

Keep ladder fuels 100 feet away from your home.
(Ladder fuels are combustible growth from the ground up to tree height and
can turn a grass fire into a house fire)

Use non-combustible roofing material.
(asphalt, metal or clay tiles)

Keep your eaves, gutters, and under your deck clear of debris.

Use non-combustible siding on your home.
(i.e. log, masonite, stucco, brick or other low flame-spread material)

Make sure your address is visible.
(At least 4” high, reflective and visible from the road)

If you have a wood pile, keep it more than 30 feet from your house.
